Access to Work

Access to Work Scheme (ATW)

If you are neuro divergent, you could get up to £69,000 a year in support from Access To Work.

It’s a government funded scheme that covers among many others, things such as transcription

software, ADHD coaching, a support worker, hardware such as noise cancelling headphones,

ReMarkable tablets, sitting-standing desk and much more.

There are many other types of support on their website, not just for those with ADHD. It is absolutely worth spending some time on the website to see if you have any condition that this scheme will cover with support (see below for link).

As the scheme becomes more widely known, the waiting times have expectedly increased and

are currently at around 18 weeks from first application online to hearing back about your

application, but it is worth exploring as to qualify for ADHD coaching/coping strategies the

only criteria that you are required to fulfil are the following:

  •  You are a UK resident/ the UK is your main place of residence.
  •  You are in either full time, part time, zero contract hours employment or, are self -

employed. You can apply even if you just have a start date for a job.

  •  Crucially, you DO NOT have to have been formally diagnosed with ADHD to qualify.

A standard offering in terms of ADHD coaching is up to 14 sessions of an hour or more.

This can be life changing for so many individuals who are in desperate need of support and coaching strategies but who do not have the personal funds to cover this.

Working with a trusted coach for this time can help to set you up with the tried and tested tools

that will most benefit you both in and out of the workplace to be able to live your best life, working with your ADHD, not against it.
